Last Night

Last night was a really good night. I can't say it was anything in particular that made it that way. There weren't any monumental happenings. It was just one of those nights. Maybe some of it was the weather. We got a few short bursts of hard rain, then some sprinkles, which cooled the air. It was actually a bit cold last night. But it was a sweet, crisp type of cold weather that was so nice to walk around in. And as I was driving all over campus through the early hours of the morning at work, I turned on the heat a little bit, listened to the complete albums of Lover's Prayers by Ida and The National's Boxer on my iPod and drove around just taking it in. It was one of those warm feelings that you don't try and look for...because it rarely happens. When it does though, you just let it.

I noticed recently that my car has been sounding louder than normal. Then last night I looked and saw that my muffler was hanging down pretty far. So I got down for a closer look and noticed that it also wasn't attached...so now it's in my backseat.

Now why aren't I good enough for a comment? Come on, Joel. My self-esteem is totally riding on the level of attention I get from my friends.
