Recently, upon the arrival of nice weather, I have become reacquainted with my love for front porch sitting. I enjoy it most on my days off when I have more freedom in my sleeping schedule and I can get up earlier in the morning, make a pot of delicious coffee, take my Bible or journal or some other book out with me, and sit in my lawn chair out on the front porch and enjoy the start of the day.
Mornings are the best time to make full use of a front porch (evenings take second, because there are usually more bugs then). There's just something about sitting outside early in the morning with one of my favorite beverages and watching the day begin. It's like God knew exactly what He was doing when he created the person that thought of front porches. I like to think that He did this just for me, as a present.

I have been trying to read more lately. Over the past few years, for whatever reason(s), I have put off reading on my own as a habit. I love reading, and in my younger years I read all the time, but somewhere around the time I came to college I quit doing it with any consistency. There have been many books that I have picked up and started to read, but that one sitting was as far as I ever got with it. And then I would pick up another one and do the same. But recently I have successfully finished two books. They took me a little longer than I was hoping for, but nevertheless they are finished. I consider it a successful progression toward a better me that I plan on creating, with help from God, of course.

Good for you! Though I wish I was more consistent in my outside reading efforts. Thank you for the call yesterday...even though you were just returning my call and you don't care about me at all, you heartless bastard!

I like the back porch. I feel like my life is less on display. When I get to the DR. I will send you a picture of our roof. It beats front and back porches combined.

Thanks for your prayers. Evie is doing better.

The back porch is elevated and screened in. It has an awesome view. The house is on a hill so the roof overlooks the city. Its really pretty.

Its time for a new post.

We water sealed the roof today. The sealant was baby blue. Our roof is so pretty now. I will eventually remember to send you a picture. Or you could come down and sit on it yourself. Bring your own cigar.
